FAQ

How do I value my silver stack?+

Pick your item type — Silver Eagles, generic rounds or bars, 90% junk silver, or Morgan/Peace dollars — enter the amount, and the calculator multiplies the silver content by the live spot price. For a mixed stack, use Stack Tracker to total everything at once.

How much silver is in junk silver?+

Pre-1965 90% 'constitutional' silver contains about 0.715 troy ounces of silver per $1 of face value (worn-coin convention). A $1.40 roll of dimes, for instance, holds roughly 1 troy ounce.

Is this what a dealer pays?+

No — this is melt value, the market value of the silver content. Dealers pay a percentage of melt, and bullion coins like Eagles carry a premium over spot.
